PREGNANCY - THE SLOW AND STEADY SECOND TRIMESTER: ENJOY IT WHILE IT LAST

what matter the most right now,
is the precious baby inside of me."
The second trimester, which is between your 13-26 weeks of pregnancy, would be the most playful and adventurous one compared to the others. The first trimester sickness subsided, the cute little bump of your belly appeared, yet you are not that huge and heavy as you will be in the third trimester. This is when you might take a lot of pictures with your bump, hang out to eat delicious foods, have fun with your girl gang, or styling into cool maternity fashion. But, it was not my case anyway. My second trimester was the time when I took more rest and slow down. I paused working for 4 months. I was positive for COVID infection with mild symptoms, thankfully my baby and I recovered with no significant problem. Afterward, I stayed at home all the time. My family worried a lot about me and my pregnancy and it was in the middle of quarantine anyway, so I didn't go out or do many things. In this trimester also, especially when it is about 20 weeks old or above, it’s the perfect time to have a whole scanning (we call it fetal scanning) with 4D ultrasound. And that was the first time I got to see the face of my daughter. That was when I knew, nothing else is more important than the health of my precious baby. One tip about this trimester is, enjoy your pregnancy to the fullest, as much as you can. Because, when you are pregnant, time flies so fast.
.
My second trimester is filled with most of "me time". I spent most of my time reading books in bed (as I used to do) and discovered long-lost hobbies such as journaling, listening to music I haven’t listened to for a while and painting. Take your time while it last. When your baby arrived, you will miss all of these pregnancy moments. The one like you feel the baby kicking when you rubbed your belly, or you whispering how much you love your baby though you both are still on the way to meet each other (trust me, when you are expecting, your first meeting with your baby will be the best blind date ever!). Waiting, anticipating, patiently… slow and steady. Gonna see each other soon. Eventually, my dear.
