| "Quiet comforts and everyday acts, that gentle elevate life's beauty." |
I sometimes wonder if blogs still find readers in 2026. There’s a quiet comfort in reading a beautifully written post, even as active bloggers become increasingly rare. Yet I return to those pages week after week, searching for inspiration for my own writing. Recently, I came across this blog by Léonce Chenal, a French editor's guide to dressing beautifully and living well. And in one post she mentioned about How to Spend Sunday the French Way, a concept of "The Sunday Reset". A concept which I would like to adopt because finally we all need to feel rested after a tiring week. She inspired me to create a new section on my blog: Living Well. It’s about those small moments and mindful choices that make life richer and fuller. Perhaps it will resonate with you too. Here’s my very first post on what it truly means to live fully—and how we can all find a little more joy, calm, and balance
...
Tradition or habit, Sunday exists as a quiet ritual—a state of mind where stillness is enough. A calm pause in the week, slower and softer, meant for disconnecting and wandering. A guilt-free day to do as you please. Not for catching up on the world, but for letting go of it. To release, to unwind. To start over. Living with my husband, raising our daughter, and being a resident-mom has made Sundays sacred for us. It’s time set aside for our little family. Even though completely unplugging is difficult—emergency calls from the hospital happen—we try to keep things simple. I’d be curled up in bed with my books, something I deeply enjoy but find so hard to make time for after residency. My husband watches his favorite car channel on YouTube, a gentle background as we share time together. If the weather’s good, we go to the beach, wander the mall, enjoy a good meal, or cook something new. Or bringing our daughter to the nearest playground and enjoying children’s activities as a family. A slow afternoon together is enough. More than enough. These small devotions and subtle indulgences, I call it modest luxuries, gentle gestures that add elegance to my everyday life. Simple moments that bring sense of grace to living.
I’d definitely want to do more of it.
